چکیده

Abstract Triticum monococcum L. and T. boeoticum L., diploid wild relatives of bread wheat ( aestivum L.), possess resistance to leaf rust (also known as brown rust) caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks. Haustorium formation-based mechanisms (i.e. pre-haustorial post-haustorial resistance) have been studied reported in various accessions. In the present study, mechanism accessions was using confocal laser scanning microscopy. Components at a histological level against pathotypes, Mexican pathotype (TCB/TD) Swiss (97512-19), indicated different types operative two The ranged from 97512-19 TCB/TD. response with necrosis pathotypes. Pre-haustorial observed could serve potential source durable breeding.

Leaf Rust of Wheat: Pathogen Biology, Variation and Host Resistance

Rusts are important pathogens of angiosperms and gymnosperms including cereal crops and forest trees. With respect to cereals, rust fungi are among the most important pathogens. Cereal rusts are heteroecious and macrocyclic requiring two taxonomically unrelated hosts to complete a five spore stage life cycle. Cereal rust fungi are highly variable for virulence and molecular polymorphism. Leaf r...

Molecular Markers for Leaf Rust Resistance Gene Lr42 in Wheat

Wheat leaf rust, caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks., is an important wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) foliar disease worldwide. Growing cultivars incorporating genetic resistance is one of the most effective approaches for disease control. Leaf rust resistance gene Lr42 was identified from a wheat relative, Aegilops tauschii Coss. (goatgrass), and has been transferred into hard winter wheat. A pre...

Molecular markers for leaf rust resistance genes in wheat.

Over 100 genes of resistance to rust fungi: Puccinia recondita f. sp. tritici, (47 Lr - leaf rust genes), P. striiformis (18 Yr - yellow rust genes) and P. graminis f. sp. tritici (41 Sr - stripe rust genes) have been identified in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and its wild relatives according to recent papers. Sixteen Lr resistance genes have been mapped using restriction fragments length polym...

Molecular Mapping of Wheat Leaf Rust Resistance Gene Lr42

Leaf rust, caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks., is an important foliar disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) worldwide. Leaf rust resistance gene Lr42 from Aegilops tauschii Coss. has been used as a source of rust resistance in breeding programs. To identify molecular markers closely linked to Lr42, a segregating population of nearisogenic lines contrasting for the presence of Lr42 was develo...

Map-based isolation of the leaf rust disease resistance gene Lr10 from the hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genome.

More than 50 leaf rust resistance (Lr) genes against the fungal pathogen Puccinia triticina have been identified in the wheat gene pool, and a large number of them have been extensively used in breeding. Of the 50 Lr genes, all are known only from their phenotype and/or map position except for Lr21, which was cloned recently. For many years, the problems of molecular work in the large (1.6 x 10...
